Wow , this message is alive , now. This is a prophetic statement. Especially to me in understanding the season that has been entrusted to me, in redeeming the time that is before me now. Not looking back , but understanding today is the day of salvation . Thank you Leon , for your obedience. Love you dearly.

Thank you so much for this encouragement. Your words touched my heart.

I believe many of us sense that we are living in a season where God is reminding us that time is not merely passing, it is a stewardship entrusted to us. Like you, I feel the weight and privilege of understanding the season before us, not looking back with regret, but looking forward with faith and obedience. "Today is the day of salvation" is more than a verse; it is an invitation to respond to what God is saying and doing right now.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. It is always encouraging to know when a message resonates with someone’s journey. May the Lord continue to give you wisdom, clarity, and courage as you redeem the time and walk fully in the opportunities He has placed before you. Love you dearly as well.

This is so good! I was just reflecting on this very thing today. This year marks my 50th class reunion, our 50th wedding anniversary and one daughter’s 40th birthday. So often we haven’t or don’t value the firsts thinking there will be other times. However, firsts are firsts and never will be firsts again. There will be new firsts, God willing, but never the same first. My friend and mentor always told me, “We all have 24 hours in a day, and what we do with it is what counts.”

Lord, teach me to number my days and apply my heart to your wisdom.

Shirley, what a beautiful reflection. First of all, congratulations on some remarkable milestones: a 50th class reunion, 50 years of marriage, and your daughter's 40th birthday. Those are not only markers of time but testimonies of God's faithfulness through the decades.

I love your observation about firsts. We often rush past them, assuming there will always be another opportunity, another season, another moment. Yet every first is unique and can never be repeated in exactly the same way. That is one reason why learning to value today is so important. As your mentor wisely said, we all receive the same twenty-four hours; what differs is what we do with them.

Your closing prayer captures the heart of the article perfectly: "Lord, teach me to number my days and apply my heart to Your wisdom." May we all learn to recognize the gift of the moments God places before us, neither living in yesterday nor postponing obedience until tomorrow, but embracing today's opportunities with gratitude, wisdom, and purpose.

Wow Dr Leon talk about putting things into perspective

“I want to invest my time in things that matter, things that will outlive me, things that carry eternal significance.”

I’m all in. Ty Dr Leon

Jerry - The older I get, the more I realize that the true measure of a life is not found in what we accumulate, but in what we invest. Buildings eventually crumble, possessions change hands, and achievements fade, but people, souls, and the Kingdom of God carry eternal value.

May we all live with that kind of intentionality, investing our time, energy, gifts, and resources in what will still matter a hundred years from now and a million years from now. A life poured into God, His purposes, and His people is never wasted.

Amen Yes-hua

Heavenly Father help me to be faithful over the little as well as the big. To be faithful in all things that matters to You ABBA. To take time … with the eyes as You see, to think, say and do my Father’s business, with my heart posture and mindset of Kingdom purposes … that my focus reflects alignment with my divine appointed purpose.

You are the Heavenly Father of all Life and Light, time stands still in your presence. May I represent good stewardship of all things you have entrusted to me. Leading a life of legacy of You, that people see Jesus Christ in me. May you see me as your humbled servant as a friend of King Jesus Christ of Nazareth and the Holy Spirit.

Standing before Your Holy throne with no words to say but Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty of all grace and mercy. I want to be the best I can possibly be of who You created me to be and touch as many lives for Your glory. Esther 4:14, Isaiah 60:1, Joel 2:25, Numbers 6:24-27, Revelation 3:8, Zechariah 2:5, Psalm 91 and Psalm 23. Thank you God Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Amen 🙏 Yes-hua. And God bless Dr. Leon for his priceless service. 😇📖🎼🙏🕊️. Blessings and peace, Marsha M.- His Place Bloomington

Thank you, Jeremiah. Amen indeed. Time is one of the most precious gifts God has entrusted to us, and once a day passes, we cannot reclaim it. My prayer is that all of us would grow in wisdom, make the most of the opportunities before us, and invest our lives in things that honor the Lord and impact others for eternity.

That is the most difficult challenge, time. Each day feels an urgency of things that need to be done that I don’t know how to accomplish and even more frustrating churches that limit the Holy Spirit and do not want to move forward in the fullness of the gospel. The Lord says pray to the breakthrough; the most powerful gift that must be incorporated without ceasing.

Leon van Rooyen's avatar

Joan: Thank you for sharing your heart. I think many of us can relate to that sense of urgency and the feeling that there is more to do than there is time to do it. The challenge is not simply managing time, but discerning what God is asking us to do in this season and giving our energy to those priorities.
